    Summary

Content stored in Revit projects can be extracted using the save families tool inside Revit.  This simplifies the process of harvesting consolidating content used on past projects, or even to manage and review content stored in live projects.

    Instructions

    1. Within a Revit project, navigate to the Content Studio tab (Revit 2014 onward) or add-ins tab (Revit 2013 and earlier) and from the Content Studio panel click 'Save Families'
    2. Select all or be selective with the content you wish to export.
    3. Click export to save your selected families to your local WIP library in Content Studio.

Note: If Content Studio is already running, you will need to hit refresh on the ribbon after the export to see the recently exported content.
